Small daily choices decide whether your phone lasts two years or five. Here's what our technicians actually recommend.
Your phone is a precision instrument, and like any instrument it rewards good care.
1. Charge between 20% and 80%
Lithium-ion cells age fastest at the extremes. Keeping your charge in the middle band dramatically slows capacity loss.
2. Avoid heat
Heat is the number one killer of batteries and boards. Never leave your device on a car dashboard or charging under a pillow.
3. Use a quality cable
Cheap cables cause inconsistent current that wears the charging port. Invest in certified cables.
4. Keep the ports clean
Lint and dust in the charging port is the most common 'won't charge' cause we see. A gentle clean every month helps.
5. Update thoughtfully
Software updates patch security holes and often improve battery management — but wait a few days to avoid early bugs.
